The staff were very friendly and helpful

The room no. 90 was something out of the seventies and needed to be up graded at once. The owners should get rid of the chef and employ one that can cook and they then could have a good hotel. It was a bit like faulty towers. You had to laugh!

Spacious room. Leisure centre including a pool not just a gym.. Free internet access in your room while other hotels charge up to £4 an hour and/or only have public space access. Friendly staff.

Very heavy early morning traffic noise (the hotel is on a busy main road) that woke me both mornings of my stay c. 6.0am despite the double glazing. Unpleasant bath with enamel missing (I think I must have had one of the yet to be refurbished rooms.)

        • Family with children
          3.2

Food was very nice and the waiting staff helpfull. Reception staff friendly. Bar area well set out and comfortable.

Room and bathroom very dated. Windows dirty and old with no locks, these were next to childrens beds so not safe. Pool cold and dirty with nowhere to change. Sauna and steam room not working. Hotel guests kept waiting for tables at dinner as resturant open to non residents also.

I liked the privacy that I had to come and go as I pleased,it was also relatively quiet and peaceful

        • Family with children
          10.0

We had an excellent 3 night stay with our 2 young kids, excellent staff, room and food. Highly recomended our package was great value £107 a night included full breakfast and 3 course dinner plus family attraction

        • Older travelers
          6.6

Four poster suite, small yet attractive.

The comfort of the bed, spoiled as is so often the case in all hotels, by sorry excuses for pillows. The door code entry sytem would not work after its first use. £13.50 extortionate price for an average breakfast.

        • Family with children
          7.8

Staff really nice.. Room pleasant. Food nice.

Service at meals slow. Leisure complex dated and dirty.

        • Single

Convenience - very close to who I was visiting. Price - was competitive.

Outside my room was a fire door, from where the corridor went down the stairs to the main reception. As a result it was very busy and very noisy for large parts of the night, as the fire door kept opening and slamming shut for most of the night. It was only on the second morning that I worked out how to open the window (my fault!) so it was very hot in the room.

        • Family with children
          10.0

The staff were extremely helpful, breakfast was plentiful, with a wide variety of choice. Health spa looked excellent I just did not get chance to take advantage this time. Bedrooms very clean, tidy with comfortable beds. Very quiet no noise late at night.

        • Family with children
          8.8

Family room was excellent, very clean and comfortable reception staff were very helpfull, resturant served excellent food. You can't fault the price, excellent value for money.

The only thing that let them down very slightly was the wait for dinner, the waiters , waitresses were very nice but the wait between courses and waiting for drinks was like pulling teeth. However that did not spoil the overall experience and the food was very good.

        • Older travelers
          6.2

          staff friendly ,room nice.

shower in room didnt work .couldnt get it to run hot.suspect not enough water pressure.specifically aked for a shower in room so this was very annoying.stayed 3 days and didnt work throughout.

        • Older travelers
          8.8

The security door to the corridor was heavy and banged each time someone used it. One didn't need an alarm clock in the morning because of it and early nights were out of the question too.Such a shame as our bedroom was next to this door.

        • Older travelers
          7.4

The staff were very friendly & courteous & a credit to the hotel.

The standard of the ensuite was poor & unheated. The leisure facilities were a joke and in a disgusting condition. I doubt this would pass either health & safety or environmental inspection. Avoid this hotel at all costs.

        • Family with children
          6.6

Saturday breakfast was nice and hot. Sunday's was cold - cold eggs, sausages, bacon - guess we cold have waited for the kitchen to bring out more ...

Bed was poor, floors creak like the haunted house!

        • Family with children
          10.0

Our family room was a good size and very comfortable. Food was excellent and the rate of £107 for 4 of us to enjoy dinner, bed, breakfast, use of the very pleasant indoor pool and a day at Cadbury World was excellent value for money.
